5 Stars Best TV ever
I’ve owned a variety of HD TVs. This Sharp Aquos 52″ replaces a 61″ DLP system. It is superior in every regard. High Def is a joy with this TV and the 120hz fixes problems that have plagued previous LCDs. I wanted to go with the 65″ version but the price differential was difficult to justify. The 52″ version in my home theater looks great (even my wife was impressed). I hooked up the cable and BluRay player via HDMI and routed the audio from the TV to my 7 speaker Yamaha system via audio optical link. Results were awesome, though I can’t crank up the volume when my wife is in the house (I have been encouraging her to visit her mother more
5 Stars Very good TV
I bought the TV in November 2008. I got addicted to it already.
I think this TV is the best TV you can get for that price. Amazon’s White Glove delivery is extremely good. They were 1 hour late but that is more than fine with the traffic and all around NJ.
The delivery guys were capable and knew what they were doing.
The TV is excellent. I use my XBOX with it as well. I connected it through the HDMI port and with the HDMI Cable i bought from Amazon. The picture is crystal clear.
I don’t think anyone can rate less than 5 stars on this item.
I highly suggest the item and also highly suggest that you get HD subscription from your cable company.
Enjoy!

Sharp Aquos LC52D85U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
This TV is the best I’ve ever owned. Setup was painless and really there was very little tweaking of the colors out of the box. The picture is amazing. PS3 looks great, blueray movies even better and this TV has “5″ HDMI inputs. The room it’s in is very bright and the TV performs great, my previous TV was a HD CRT and would wash out in the day light. Not so with this TV and sports look amazing!!!! I love this TV and I’m very happy with the purchase. I would recommend it to anyone. It is simply the best TV I have ever viewed.
4 Stars Great HD TV BUT
Great TV. The picture is so clear when watching Blu Ray. The only thing is that you will need a a home theather system. I had the volume all the way up and it was still low. But like my Army Sgt use to tell me, if you are going to do something do it right the first time. If you are buying such a big TV you must buy a blu ray, subscribe to HD channels, and buy a nice home theater system. The 10000:1 contrast ratio is enough. Remember your average theater is showing at 500:1 contrast ratio. The 1080p is also a nice feature but only if you have a Blu Ray which transmits at 1080p. Your average cable company transmits at 480i to 720p. This TV was also very light a feature I was looking for being that I was going to place it on the wall.
4 Stars Good tv but quick price drop
This TV is very well made and it has a great picture. This is my second sharp LCD and I probably will stick with sharp for all my LCD needs. The only problem is that I bought this LCD on NOV 28 and it already had two price drops and amazons new policy is to not honor them.

5 Stars Sony W Series Vs Samsung 650 Series !
Like most customers i had been doing research on various 46 inch LCD TVs for a couple of months. For various reasons it eventually came down to Sony W Series vs Samsung 650 Series. I went to Best Buy showroom and saw them both side by side. Right till the time i made my purchase Samsung had a slight edge in my mind. I went for Sony when i saw this great deal at Circuit City($1299+Tax). With 8% AAA Members Discount to top it, this was a Steal! I locked in the price. I have the TV for a week now and “no regrets”.
My advice– Go for the best price! They are both good TVs. Infact if you are over 30yrs like me then your eyesight might become the limiting factor…:). Four things to look out for in LCD TV- 120Hz,1080p,at least 20,000:1 contrast ratio and atleast two HDMI inputs(3 or more if you are into Gaming).
5 Stars Beautiful picture, elegant design.
I researched LCD’s till my mind felt like scrambled eggs. I assume, like most other people, the decision came down to Sony or Samsung. I wanted to spend around $1500 for a 46 inch. After much deliberation and physically checking out the TV’s at Best Buy, i went with the Sony for the following reasons:
Picture: The Sony screen is less reflective than the Samsung, providing a picture that i feel is easier on the eyes. The Sony also has very deep blacks, which makes the image look fantastic. I have to say that i also think the Samsung has a great picture, i just prefer Sony’s.
Sound: The Samsung down firing speakers sound terrible and muffled, and although many people will hook their TV’s up to a sound system, this bugged me. The Sony built in speakers sound great.
Design: To me, Samsung TV’s look cheap and plastic. And i don’t like “The Touch of Red.” I think it looks cheesy and eighties. Although there is plastic border around the Sony, its industrial design is clean and elegant, and doesn’t stand out.
Remote: The Samsung remote is an eyesore, and not easy to use. The Sony remote on the other hand looks slick, is simple to use, and fits properly in my hand.
Both companies make great products, it’s really just a matter of personal taste. Mine happened to lean toward Sony.
Hope this helps you
4 Stars Great TV!
So far, I have to say I am extremely happy with the picture quality of the W series. I thought the Sony LCD TVs looked the best in the store and I have always been partial to Sony, so after 2 yrs of waiting and shopping around, I finally pulled the trigger on the KDL-W4100 and it was delivered last week.
First–my experience with the “white glove” delivery service. Two guys literally ran in my front door–they already had the box partially unpacked. They pulled out the TV, set it on the stand (and then handed me the screws to actually attach it), plugged in the cable, turned it on, handed me a checklist, and ran out the door. They were not in the house more than 5 min. Technically, they did everything on that Amazon describes–but either they were in a big hurry or they get paid by the number of deliveries. Given that unpacking and setting up a TV is not a big deal and I could have easily done it myself, I just laughed at the Keystone Kops performance going on in my living room (and they didn’t speak any english, so there was nothing I could have said to them anyway). All in all, it was no big deal, but I just wanted others to not have any misconceptions about what “white glove” service means, so you won’t be disappointed.
I am still having some issues with Comcast in getting my HD signal straightened out, but the picture quality of the channels I do receive is excellent. I have a 22″ Vizio HD (720p) in my office and the difference is quite noticeable. We find ourselves tuning to progams not because of the content, but the pictures are so spectacular.
DVDs are impressive as well. I have a Sony DVP-NS77H upconverting DVD player–I paid $75 for it a year ago. I was considering upgrading to Blu-Ray but, given the picture quality with this TV, I can’t justify the extra cost of either the player or replacing my library with Blu Ray DVDs. Maybe I’ll have to borrow someone’s Blu Ray to see the difference, but I see them in the store and it’s hard to see how the picture could be much better than what I have now.
The menu interface seems to be a little more complicated than it should be, which doesn’t bother me too much because I am not imtimidated by technology, but my wife would never even bother to try. I am a little disappointed in the available “wide” settings, but that may be more due to the nature of the signal, rather than a limitation of the TV itself. To get a non-distorted image on some channnels, it cuts off so much of the screen that the picture is actually smaller than on my previous 32 inch tube TV. I would like to have had a little more detail in the manual as well.
All in all, it is a superb TV–my only regret now is that I didn’t spend the extra $$ for the 52 inch version.
4 Stars Sony KDL-46W4100

When I first received my Sony I was very disappointed. However after doing some research I found I needed to calibrate the TV. I used the settings recommended in the above link and it was the proverbial night and day difference. Excellent picture in both regular and HDTV with amazing color. HDTV sportscasts are great with the 120Hz.
The TV does however have a very narrow viewing angle however. While it can be viewed from any angle the colors degrade when your viewing from say 20 degrees off center. Not a big deal for me as I always get the front and center seat. Also this is something my wife would probably not notice and is not as noticeable in my room because it is narrow and deep.

I did allot of research on this set. You cannot beat the features for the price. This TV will not give you buyers remorse.
4 Stars Never received this product.
I actually canceled this order in favor of a Panasonic plasma TH-46PZ85U.
This TV was one of the best I’ve seen in the stores, but I wanted a plasma for better fast-action displays.
I’ve come to conclude that even with plasma there is some blur because there is blur in the broadcast of most channels. ESPN, ABC, CBS, etc all have blur. This is due to the camera focus, camera motion, and even MPEG compression of the signal.
So don’t shy away from an LCD, especially with 120Hz refresh. Just make sure you check it out in a local store – let your eyes be the judge.
