5 Stars Why did I wait so long………..
I don’t usually watch TV, prefer reading or the web. I noticed our projection TV was rolling for the first 5 minutes, and figuring it was going to go soon, my wife dragged me to a sale. She was looking and comparing TV’s, one a 52″ 1080P and 120mhz and it was quite expensive,I asked my wife to compare it with the set right next to it the Samsung PN50A450 and she really didn’t see a difference. The size was very similar and the picture just as good, with a slight edge going to the mega buck TV, but it was $1200 more and I only paid $899. I walked in the store thinking I had to have 1080P, 52 inch, and everything else you can think of. Remember you are not going to have the TV’s next to each other, this is a GREAT TV and it made me a believer. So we put the extra money into a piece of furniture opposed to a put together stand.
My only real concern was the speakers since I had read a few reviews that said they thought the speakers were inadequate, the speakers are great. We are super pleased with the picture and the sound. I don’t see any problem with the set at all and I have been lingering about the living room more than usual.
Gorgeous TV……………..and cabinet
5 Stars Best TV for the price
Here’s the deal, I spent days upon painful days researching the best TV for the money. I researched on-line, in-store, read reviews, watched all sorts of TV’s and noticed and came up with a few points everyone should know:
1) If your buying a 50 inch or smaller flat screen TV – 720p will give you as good a picture as 1080p. In fact all signal sources, except BluRay aren’t 1080p anyway. You can not tell the difference.
2) Get a TV with at least 3 HDMI inputs. This will cover your cable, BluRay, and gaming system.
3) The new Plasma TV’s last just as long as a new LCD – Don’t believe the hype.
4) Call your credit card before you buy a service plan. Most credit cards will double what the manufacturer offers you for FREE.
As far as this TV, for the price, the picture is awesome. Dark blacks, crisp lines, the picture is great. In fact it is just as good as my 50″ Sony DLP that costs way more…..(BTW – I have now sold the Sony)
I have this hooked up to a home theater, so I never use the TV’s speakers so I can’t comment on that. The remote is fine, it is easy to unpack, easy to set up, and easy to pay for. If you are looking for a great Flat Screen 50″ or under. This is it. Order it, and enjoy!
5 Stars Best TV for the price!
I’ve owned this TV for about a month and so far I Love it! I don’t have a surround sound system yet and when I first got it there were a few shows where the sound was a little buzzy. I made a few adjustments to the sound settings and haven’t had any more problems.
It has plenty of connections, has a great picture, and even instant play (online) netflix movies look great on it. I do keep grabbing the remote upside down because it seems to be weighted backwards, but that’s a small complaint for such a good TV at a GREAT price.
5 Stars BRILLIANT PICTURE FOR A 720p
I have owned a Visio 720p plasma for about 2 years. Bought this as a gift and am really impressed. I have really liked my visio, until i saw the Samsung.
The Samsung has better picture, more inputs, better connectivity, better remote, better software and it was $300 less than I spent on my Visio at Sam’s Club. I am very “picky” when it comes to anything I buy, but especially technology. I researched for a couple weeks before pulling the trigger on the Samsung.
I would swear this was a 1080p and not a 720p… Colors are rich. Brightness is great. FOOTBALL LOOKS AWESOME. The system’s input auto switching feature makes connecting anything (DVD, Game System, Cable Box) really easy. Lots of connections. Fantastic price…
As I said, my nature is very picky, even critical, and at the same time I am very thrifty in my spending, always looking for the BEST DEAL. For home and work, I have purchased 4 HDTV’s and 3 projectors over the last 2 years. This is by far the best picture of all the HDTV’s i’ve purchased, even the 1080p LCD’s. At the same time it was the least expensive HD I’ve purchased. IF YOUR ON THE FENCE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT, DONT LET THE 720p CONCERN YOU.
Amazon shipped very quickly (faster than I expected) and the “White Glove” delivery from their delivery vendor was great.
Wish I would have bought 2…
5 Stars Great TV
I have been saving and doing research for the last year for a flat panel TV and I could not be happier. I have read all about 1080p vs 720p and plama vs LCD and I am completly satisfied with this TV. You can not beat the price and the picture looks great. From the naked eye I could tell no difference between this TV and the 1080p version. I have had no issues and I do not think you need to spend $500 or more for a differnt TV. If you are looking for 50″ or glorious TV, you have found it.

4 Stars A great television for the price.
This is a great television that packs a lot of bang for the buck. It’s loaded with features, small enough to be used in a bedroom yet large enough to be the center point of your entertainment system, and HD-ready right out of the box. The only downside is that, rarely, the set can actually crash when trying to process a really weak or garbled HD signal. It freaked me out the first time I saw it do this; I thought the thing had short circuited! But a quick press of the power button (and a new HD set top box from my cable provider) resolved the issue and it has yet to crash again. Others have complained about the viewing angle, but I haven’t any complaints. Perhaps I just have mine more favorably placed than the others do?
5 Stars Nice performance, great value
I just got this TV when Amazon dropped the price. I am very pleased with it, its a terrific value. The picture is amazing, its highly energy efficient costing only $1.14 a month to operate based on 6 hours viewing a day. Its an Energy Star TV. Sound is also good for what it is it has 2 X 5 watt speakers. I saw the other review here and am a little perplexed as I’ve found this TV to be a great value for a standard 26″ LCD TV which is what it is. I’d highly recommend it.
4 Stars Good performance, Excellent value
I was surprised to see how great the picture looks, coupled with the extensive inputs/outputs, while the price was over 30% lower than other comparable models. The only negative is that the screen cannot be tilted and the vertical viewing angle is not very good.
3 Stars Not up to usual Toshiba standards
I bought a 37″ Regza a few months ago and like it but this smaller Toshiba is way inferior…the vertical viewing angle is limited to about 10 degrees…which makes for very poor pic quality if the watcher isn’t pretty much smack in front of the screen.
Not impressed.
I’m editing this…with a couple of books, I was able to tilt the screen to get a better viewing angle which made a BIG difference. The television has a wonderful picture if you’re looking at it directly…that’s my only point here. But then people don’t usually look at a Rembrandt from way off to the side, do they?
3 Stars Toshiba 26 inch not as good as I had hoped.
The sound is fair and the picture quality is ok if you are basically right in front of the set. I purchased the tv only a couple of weeks ago and still am stumbling through the 59 page instruction manual. Good luck on this unless you are an expert in tv features and operations. Would I buy it again? Maybe.

5 Stars BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT.
Every couple of years I decide to step up and get a new one. This is by far the best TV ive ever had….for the price I paid it was perfect. I was pretty close to getting the 32 inch for the exact same price…then this went on sale….I got a 42 inch for the price of a 32. Im totally satisfied. The remote is a little big but thats my only issue. Picture is perfect.
5 Stars Great TV. Great price. Love it.
I researched many tv’s and this was the best fit for my house. I think if would have gone with a bigger tv then I would have gone with the 1080 but for the size the 720 is great.
5 Stars Excellent TV.
I plugged this Plasma TV in and it truly just looks and works great.
I did find the Dynamic Contrast a bit too bright, but it is easy to adjust to a better setting. Also, I found the non-glare screen worked great in my house. My old tube TV used to have glare from a living room light that this PN42A450 plasma, in the same place, does not.
Great TV for an absolute great price, under $800.
4 Stars No regrets
Purchased due to a good sale on Amazon. Free shipping, white glove included, no taxes. HD channels cannot be beat. Very pleased. The other channels are high quality. The regular channels seem just slightly not as crisp as the Sony Trinitron I was replacing (but it was huge and weighed 220#). Worth the swap, that’s for sure.
White glove experience was good, though delivery guy carried it all by himself. The way he struggled to leverage it really concerned me. He couldn’t connect cable, so I couldn’t tell if picture was okay. I didn’t sign off on some lines of his form since I couldn’t test it. It turned out all okay. I’m pleased with purchase and ease of using Amazon to order it. No regrets. Have had it for about 30 days or so now. I’m sure I have more to learn. Oh, comments about sound are correct. It’s fair coming thru the set but I already had stereo sound system, so it wasn’t an issue. Good luck with your decision. I worried making such a big purchase online, but took the risk for the savings. I’m thankful it was the right decision.
5 Stars Great TV
This TV is great. Great picture with normal cable connection. Some channels look 3D. Good sound. Good Service. There was a piece of styrofome behind the screen and samsung had someone at my house in 4 days to fix it.
