5 Stars Simply the BEST VALUE out there!!!!
I’ve been spending a lot of my time researching, researching, and researching for the best TV out there on the market to haul in the best value. This TV hands down is the one! First and foremost this TV is 50″ and its huge. The clarity of the picture is awesome and I am able to watch sports, along with any fast action movie with no problems. Panasonic has made a great plasma TV here, so if you’re looking for the all around best TV for your family room, this TV is the one for you. Along with getting it at this price, is an awesome bargain. I’ve told all my friends about this TV and they can’t believe I got it for this great price. If you’re looking for something a little smaller, they also carry a 42″ TV plasma, which I would suggest you get this plasma brand ASAP before they are gone. Please note that most plasma’s run at about 480Hz so, do not be fooled in buying a 120Hz TV if you’re going to watch sports or fast action movies, PLASMA is the way to go.
5 Stars Another happy camper
Could go into the “blacks are the blackest, picture is stunning, no excessivie glare, etc. etc, but won’t waste your time. Besides, I’m gonna spend $1500 and then slam the product?? I don’t think so. Really, I am totally pleased with the TV. One item I’d like to mention: Delivery. OUTSTANDING! Ordered the set at approx midnight Dec 5. Following Monday had a phone call from Pilot Freight notifying me of impending delivery. Kept up with progress thru internet. Received a phone call Thurs telling me the set was in town and would be delivered between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Friday. I asked if at all possible, could I received a phone call 30 minutes prior to delivery and could it possibly be approx noon on Friday. They said they’d do what they could. At 11:35 Fri morning got a call from the driver. I told him I’d be there by noon and he was driving up when I drove in the driveway. He completely set the machine up, verified in good working order, and offered to take away the packing material. Kudos (in the good sense) to Pilot Freight!
5 Stars Awesome TV Awsome Service!!!! A TRUE 10!!
I must say that when I ordered this TV through Amazon I might have been a little reluctant. I did comprehensive research on this TV against a comparable Samsung unit. I decided to go with this TV simply because it was $700 dollars cheaper with the same specs. I received my TV yesterday plugged it in and did some personal adjustments to the color for about 5min and was BLOWN away at the quality of the picture. It looks amazing. Our couch is about 10ft away from the TV and there is no loss of picture quality at all. The unit is SILENT and does NOT get hot what so ever. I ran the TV for 8hrs and it did not even feel warm. A must have for your living room. The “White Glove Service” was AWESOME. They set the appointment and gave me a window of 12pm to 6pm. The TV was set up on the stand at 12:30pm. I will definitely make more purchases on Amazon.com. BUY THIS TV!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
4 Stars GOOD!!
This product has very stable performance.
I can see clearly HD programs.
I enjoy pro sports especially NFL very much.
If you look for new TV, I recommend this one.
3 Stars Pay attention to the Shiny Black Bezel!
I’m not sure who thought up the shiny black frame and stand for this TV, but it’s a design disaster. It reflects every light in the room and is quite annoying. This doesn’t make any sense because Panasonic has spent an enormous amount of time and money trying to produce a screen that has less reflective qualities. I guess this shiny bezel is the latest fad, because most the brands have them lately. It’s not for me.
I think it’s a fine TV, but we returned it to Amazon. Simply intolerable.

5 Stars Best TV ever
I’ve owned a variety of HD TVs. This Sharp Aquos 52″ replaces a 61″ DLP system. It is superior in every regard. High Def is a joy with this TV and the 120hz fixes problems that have plagued previous LCDs. I wanted to go with the 65″ version but the price differential was difficult to justify. The 52″ version in my home theater looks great (even my wife was impressed). I hooked up the cable and BluRay player via HDMI and routed the audio from the TV to my 7 speaker Yamaha system via audio optical link. Results were awesome, though I can’t crank up the volume when my wife is in the house (I have been encouraging her to visit her mother more
5 Stars Very good TV
I bought the TV in November 2008. I got addicted to it already.
I think this TV is the best TV you can get for that price. Amazon’s White Glove delivery is extremely good. They were 1 hour late but that is more than fine with the traffic and all around NJ.
The delivery guys were capable and knew what they were doing.
The TV is excellent. I use my XBOX with it as well. I connected it through the HDMI port and with the HDMI Cable i bought from Amazon. The picture is crystal clear.
I don’t think anyone can rate less than 5 stars on this item.
I highly suggest the item and also highly suggest that you get HD subscription from your cable company.
Enjoy!
5 Stars LC52D85U
Sharp Aquos LC52D85U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
This TV is the best I’ve ever owned. Setup was painless and really there was very little tweaking of the colors out of the box. The picture is amazing. PS3 looks great, blueray movies even better and this TV has “5″ HDMI inputs. The room it’s in is very bright and the TV performs great, my previous TV was a HD CRT and would wash out in the day light. Not so with this TV and sports look amazing!!!! I love this TV and I’m very happy with the purchase. I would recommend it to anyone. It is simply the best TV I have ever viewed.
4 Stars Great HD TV BUT
Great TV. The picture is so clear when watching Blu Ray. The only thing is that you will need a a home theather system. I had the volume all the way up and it was still low. But like my Army Sgt use to tell me, if you are going to do something do it right the first time. If you are buying such a big TV you must buy a blu ray, subscribe to HD channels, and buy a nice home theater system. The 10000:1 contrast ratio is enough. Remember your average theater is showing at 500:1 contrast ratio. The 1080p is also a nice feature but only if you have a Blu Ray which transmits at 1080p. Your average cable company transmits at 480i to 720p. This TV was also very light a feature I was looking for being that I was going to place it on the wall.
4 Stars Good tv but quick price drop
This TV is very well made and it has a great picture. This is my second sharp LCD and I probably will stick with sharp for all my LCD needs. The only problem is that I bought this LCD on NOV 28 and it already had two price drops and amazons new policy is to not honor them.

5 Stars Highly recommended
As always, I looked over the low ratings and two mention motion blur. Quite honestly, I have no idea what these people are talking about. Plasma by nature handles fast refreshing and motion blur is a problem with LCD. That is exactly why I did not by an LCD and bought a plasma (not to mention fabulous blacks and contrast). It’s too bad these people didn’t investigate other much more likely sources for this problem – cable or satellite feeds, connections, cables… I am 100% sure there problem has nothing to do with the set.
For two months I have had this TV and it has met all my expectations and alleviated any fears or worries. Plunking down so much for a TV is a big gamble. I hesitated for some time on so many sets, but now that I did it I am very happy.
Advantages: price, contrast, colors, better picture than any LCD under $2500
Disadvantages: electrical consumption, worrying about burn in even though it is no longer anything to worry about!
3 Stars Panasonic slideshpw
The very best Tv built.
But now the photoslide show using the sd card is a great feature, but it will not play the slideshow if theres a power surge or power goes off then on, theres also no timer feature for the slideshow. So dont buy this thinking you found a cheap way to run advertisements in your business.
When power returns it goes to the other features, not the slideshow.
Great for home use.
5 Stars Merry Christmas!!! 2008
I’m not a TV geek, but after researching as much as I could on line, and stopping in a couple of stores to make some comparisons, I couldn’t be happier with the choice I made. The color is excellent, the blacks are defining, the size is perfect for the space. But what caught my attention the most was listening. With the TV on in the other room while preparing dinner I was listening to what my husband was watching. The sound was different than the antiquated set we had and reminded me of being at the movies. High def makes football games feel like you’re in the stands. My son loves it! We’re all extremely pleased.
5 Stars Incredible Clarity
I purchased this TV because I wanted a high-definition set for viewing my high-resolution photographic images. Various sources reported that plasmas were preferable to LCDs for photos because of denser blacks and better contrast. I have not seen my photographs on an LCD set, so I have no basis for comparison. I can only report that my images are absolutely incredible on this set. The color is faithful to the photo as I processed it. Colors are also well-saturated. Resolution and contrast are superb. I am amazed at how much superior my images look on this set compared to how they looked on my old standard TV. As an aside, I would add that I wanted the 1080p versus the 720p TV for better resolution of my photos, and they are really sharp on this set.
I am also a fan of college football and basketball and wanted a TV that could handle these fast-moving sports without the “image trails” that are said to be common on LCDs and which I have observed on a few of my friends’ LCDs.
My wife and I also like to watch DVD movies. This set is excellent for that. Although not a movie but a documentary, the BBC’s “Planet Earth” is absolutely incredible on this set.
I must say that non-HD television programs look truly inferior on this set (a problem that will not exist within a couple months)–even worse than they did on our old set. Or was I so accustomed to the lower definition that I didn’t mind it?
I occasionally watch television during the daytime in a room that has windows on two sides. Supposedly one weakness of plasma sets is that they are not as bright as LCSs under such conditions. I notice no lack of brightness in this set. I also watch it with lights on in the room (except when watching a DVD). Again, a supposed weakness of plasmas is that they reflect other lights and show glare. I have observed none of this. Evidently Panasonic has solved both of these old plasma-viewing problems.
Some reviewers have critiqued the sound on the set. One cannot expect home theater quality sound from any television. To my ears the self-contained sound of this set is every bit as good as one could expect.
I have not had the set long enough to report on its reliability. But I can say that so far I am extremely pleased with the set. It has made my television watching visually satisfying. And I could not be more pleased with how my landscape photographs look on it.
5 Stars If you are considering this TV, buy it
I bought this TV from TigerDirect for 800$ after researching TV’s for a month.
Let me say that performance wise it is perfect, the colors are great, the contrast, deep blacks etc…
Standard TV does look average, especially at this size.
However any HD content looks amazing, blu-ray is breathtaking, video games look perfect, the PC input works very well.
The sound from the TV is decent, but if you bought the TV for watching movies and playing video games, then get a better audio system, as this plasma tv provides the image but not the sound quality of HD. Burn-in today is also irrelevant, you really do have to abuse the set to be a part of the 1% of people who experience it.
To conclude, if you can get this TV for under 1000$ BUY IT.
This is the BEST you can get for the 42 inch range, beating any LCD. For now LCD’s are expensive, and don’t have that many benefits over Plasma.
