This is my first Blu-ray player, and so far, it has been very good. The only complaint I have is that it seems to drop the audio for about a second once per movie. Other than that, the picture and sound quality are great.
As for the poster who commented on the player turning on every time the tv started up (via hdmi), I had the same problem. I solved that problem by turning off the Anynet+ feature under the HDMI Display settings. The manual says it works with only other samsung products, but that apparently is false. That should solve nuisance.

Vizio hasn't gotten up to a 58" yet but I have a 42" plenty big enough for my family. Don't let the name or prive fool you, the specs are wonderful.
